Trilanco Managing Director Martin Balmer admits he jumped at the chance to relocate his company to Mill Farm.
Currently based in Poulton-le-Fylde, family-owned Trilanco is the UK’s largest animal health and equine products wholesaler. Currently employing 78 staff, Trilanco supplies retailers nationwide with over 12,000 product lines from the leading manufacturers all over the world.
The new six acre site will boast a 110,000 square foot warehouse with space to house Trilanco’s own fleet of vehicles that deliver to retailers in the UK and further afield each week.
Martin said: “There was a real possibility that we would have to move out of the area because we have totally outgrown our current premises.
“We’re really pleased that we can keep our business on the Fylde coast and, as it’s just six miles from our current location, there are no issues for our staff.”
“When David Haythornthwaite contacted me enquiring if we were looking for land, it seemed like it was meant to be. We have been involved since the very early days and we can’t wait to get started.”
“We have already booked 10 season tickets for the stadium too, so we can take staff, clients and suppliers to the football for a nice day out. We feel it is important to invest back into the local community.”
The new facility at Mill Farm gives Trilanco the platform to continue to grow. It also helps to secure jobs for the current team and potentially create new employment in the area in the future.
The pace at which Trilanco is growing has not gone unnoticed. This year alone they have been named in the Manchester Fastest 50, Real Business’s Hot 100, the London Stock Exchange’s 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain and most recently they made it into the Investec Mid-Market 100.
“We’re very proud of any list we make or award we’re nominated for or win,” added Martin.
“Our philosophy at Trilanco is a pretty simple one – we want to work closely with our customers and provide what they need. There are lots of ways that we do this, and I’m very lucky to have such a strong team who make it happen. I like to think the recognition we’re receiving proves we’re doing something right.”
